On a cloudy afternoon on Homecoming Saturday, the Sherwood Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Team(5-2-1) played the Quince Orchard Cougars (6-1).

The game was very physical from the beginning. Quince Orchard got on the scoreboard first when the right wing sent a cross ball that was kicked in by a QO attacker. The Lady Warriors had a few scoring chances, but we mostly on their heels, getting by winning the 50/50s. The game was 1-0 at halftime.

The Warriors came out in the second half on a mission and with a plan. Tessa Block took off the goalie jersey and played midfield and Kylie Rowan moved to midfield from fullback. This was the spark Sherwood needed.Tessa Block (2)dribbled through a pack of QO defenders and scored from the 18 yard line on a beautiful shot over the goalies head to make it 1-1 with 17 minutes left in the game. 10 minutes later Kylie Rowan (1)showed amazing footwork, juking 4 QO defenders, and firing the ball by the perplexed QO goalie to make it 2-1 warriors. The Warriors were not able to hang on as QO scored 2 goals in the last 6 minutes to win 3-2. It was a competitive tough game and The Lady Warriors fought hard. This was their last game. Congrats on a phenomenal season. See you next fall.
