Sherwood High School 7th 215

Senior Sean Enright capped his Sherwood Cross Country career with perhaps, the best high school race of his career. Enright met the challenge of the Hereford High School course, considered one of the five most difficult courses in the US, as he placed 9th in a field of 176 finishers with the time of 16 minutes 17.81 seconds for the three mile challenge. Enright went out with the leaders and stayed with them throughout the hilly course. Only 10.24 seconds behind Enright was Jack Anderson, a Junior, who placed 11th. By finishing in the top 25, both Warrior runners earned state championship medals.
The team then had to wait 48 seconds and 43 places for their third runner to enter the chute. Colin Patel finished 54th, Justin Hayes-Puttfarcken was 66th, and Ian Gormley 83rd to round out the top 5.
Through adjusted scoring, which removes non scoring runners, the Sherwood Harriers earned 215 points to finish 7th in the 24 team field. Sherwood’s best boys finish in five years.
