Sherwood High School 10th 12

On a cold, blustery day, the Warriors competed at the Cougar Relays at Quince Orchard High School. Sophomore Sean Enright led the Sherwood team efforts as he placed 4th in the Devil Takes the Hindmost Race. In this race, the entire group of competitors runs 800 meters together, and then after the ensuing laps, the last runners are culled from the race by the “Devil”. It’s a race of attrition, with the winner being the person who runs the most laps. Enright ran for 23 minutes and 47 seconds for a distance of 16 laps.
Junior Tyrese Williams had the second best Long Jump effort of the day as he improved his personal record to 19’3″.
The Discus relay partnership of Joseph Nazzaro and Joshua Ayres placed second, and the 4 x 400 relay of Eddie Dumas, Ian Gormley, Tyrese Williams and Alberto Covaliu-Fuentes placed 3rd.
