Sherwood High School 4th 87

Weather and course conditions for the MPSSAA 4A North Championship meet weren’t ideal. It had rained for over three hours before the meet began, which made the Dulaney High School course slick and muddy on the down hills, and on the 180 degree turns. Three championship races preceded the 4A Boys race as the Sherwood Boys toed the line.
When the gun went off, Senior Sean Enright went to the front of the 84 man pack, and held the lead through the first 3000 meters of the 5000 meter (3.14 mi) race. Jack Anderson, Enright’s teammate kept pace with Enright throughout the course. At the finish line, Enright placed 4th with the time of 16:36.6, and Anderson followed in 6th with the time of 16:46.0.
The Warriors who followed their first two runners were Ian Gormley- 24; Colin Patil 25; Eamon Plante- 28; Justin Hayes-Puttfarcken- 33 and Noam Tuchman 35. the sum of the places of Sherwood’s first 5 runners was 87 points which placed the team 4th out of 10 teams and automatically qualified Sherwood for the State Cross Country Championships on Nov. 9 at Hereford High School.
