Sherwood’s Boys Cross Country Team took advantage of great pack running to defeat Bethesda Chevy Chase and Thomas Wootton High Schools in a double dual meet.
The meet was held on one of the warmest October days on record on Bethesda Chevy Chase’s Candy Cane City 5000 meter course in Rock Creek Park.
Sherwood’s Harriers took six of the top 10 places to seal the win. Sean Enright placed third in the time of 18:05.4. Immediately following Enright were Justin Hayes-Puttfarcken- 4th; Ian Gormley 5th; Jack Anderson- 7th; Eamon Plante- 9th and Noam Tuchman- 10th.
The team scoring then broke the competition into three separate meets – Sherwood vs. BCC, Sherwood vs. Wootton and Wootton vs. BCC
Sherwood defeated BCC 21 to 37 and defeated Wootton 21 to 38.

The Sherwood Cross Country Team will have a short recovery period of two days and then compete at the Great American Cross Country Festival in Cary, NC on Saturday Oct. 5.
