New Coaches Hired for 2018-2019!


The Sherwood Athletic Department is pleased to announce the addition of three new coaches for the 2018-2019 school year!

Andrew Kulesh has been hired as the Head Coach of the JV Girls Volleyball Team. Coach Kulesh brings with him experience as a collegiate player and a coach. He played Men’s Volleyball at St. Joseph’s University in Philly and was an intregal part of the teams success.  He also has served as the Girl’s Coach of a local high school in Philadelphia and has been on staff at numerous college, high school camps and clinics in the Metro Area. Coach Kulesh can be reached at Andrew_D_Kulesh@mcpsmd.org   The JV Volleyball season will begin on August 11, 2018; more information can be found on our Tryouts Page.

Tom Nakamura has been hired as the Head Varsity Golf coach for the Fall 2018-2019 season. Coach Nakamura  will join Assistant Varsity Coach Brent Davis on the Sherwood Golf Program. Coach Nakamura is an accomplished golfer playing at the high school and the golf circuit level throughout the area. He has been a volunteer assistant on the coaching staff at his alma mater. Coach Nakamura is a Social Studies teacher at Sherwood High School.  In addition, Coach Nakamura is the Head JV Girls Lacrosse Coach in the Spring.  More information can be found on our Tryouts Page.

Mike King has been named the Girls Tennis coach for the Spring 2019 season. Coach King is a Social Studies/History teacher at Sherwood. He has experience coaching a number of sports in MCPS, including Tennis at Kennedy HS. For the first time in MCPS, Girls Tennis will be offered in the Spring instead of the Fall, and will begin on March 1, 2019. More information and contact information can be found on our Tryouts Page.
