Game Recap

The 2015 Sherwood Girls Varsity soccer season got off to a great start with a 5-1 win over host Quince Orchard Cougars.

Senior forwards Ashley Webb and Danielle Rohrman each notched two goals, their first of the season. Senior Priya Mittu added a tally late in the first half.

Webb also added an assist, as well as senior Barbara Pizarro. Returning Washington Post All-Metro senior Ariella Amguana ended with two assists on the night. Freshman Izzy Ponce saw her first varsity action and notched an assist in her debut.

Juniors Meghan Nolan and Heran Yosef also saw action in their first varsity game.

The defense, led by senior Delaney McMenamin and junior Annie Shigo limited the Cougars shots and the host to one goal.

Goalkeepers Amy O’Neill and Brenna Alewynse combined for the win.

The Warriors are back in action next week when they host rival Blake on Wednesday, September 16.
