Meet Recap

Sherwood’s Girls Cross Country Team placed 11th at the MPSSAA 4A Championship Cross Country Meet on Saturday Nov. 11.
The Warriors were again led by Freshman Emily Gravell who was the sixth Freshman runner to cross the finish line, and placed 34th overall. Her time was 20:40.60 for the difficult 3.0 mile course.
The 4A Girls’ race, which was the first of the State Championship day, found the temperature hovering in the mid 30’s, yet the majority of the competitors raced in singlets and shorts with the occasional knit cap and gloves thrown in. Despite the freezing conditions, 148 girls finished. Included among the finishers, in addition to Gravell, were Sherwood’s Sofia Grossman- 57; Alexa Donaldson 63; Amy Guenterberg- 65; Ryan Sandoval- 90; Mary Beth Magin- 128 and Sinead Claffey 129.
