Meet Recap

With a time gap of only 90 seconds between their first runner and their fifth runner, Sherwood’s Varsity Girls Cross Country Team won the Chesapeake Cross Country Invitational on Saturday Sept. 23. Freshman Emily Gravell was the first Warrior to cross the finish line as she placed fourth in the 81 girl field. Emily’s time was 20:15.80 for the 5000 meter course. Following Emily were Sofia Grossman, 8th in 20:48.6, Alexa Donaldson 14th in 21:33.30, Sasha Laredo, 17th in 21:42.10, Amy Guenterberg- 18th in 21:45.50; Ryan Sandoval 20th in 21:61.10 and Rebacca Ginsburg 41st in 23:32.7
Sherwood’s Varsity B girls also won the Varsity B team competition with an even lower score than the varsity. The “B” Girls scored jus 28 points.
First year runner Mary Beth Magin led the Varsity B Girls as she placed 2nd in a field of 65 finishers with her time of 23:01.11
