Meet Recap

Senior Alyssa Moran capped her high school career with two personal best results at the Maryland State Track and Field Championships. On Friday May 27, Alyssa placed 5th in the Triple Jump with her best ever effort of 37′ 4 1/2″ and earned the Warriors 4 team points. On Saturday May 28, Moran improved her Long Jump best by over 12″ as she jumped 18’7″ to earn the third place Medal and 6 more points for her team.

Alyssa Moran wasn’t alone in the team scoring department. Senior Rachel Goldberg also achieved her personal best in the Discus throw with an effort of 117′ 3″ to earn the 5th place ribbon and 4 more points for Sherwood. Freshman Sofia Grossman also scored for the Warriors as she jumped 5′ 0″ in the High Jump to place 7th and earn 2 points.

The Lady Warriors earned 16 points, all in field events to place Sherwood 16th in a field of 36 scoring teams.

Also competing for Sherwood were: Maddie Peloff – 12th in the 3200 run; the girls 4 x 800 relay of Maddie Peloff, Amy Guenterberg, Leah Peloff and Amanda Hayes Puttfarcken- 11th; the 4 x 400 Relay team of Hayes-Puttfarcken, Paige Munshell, Kiana Robinson and Grossman – 15th; and Paige Munshell- 100 meter hurdles – 17th.
